“The 5 Love Languages For Men”

By: Gary Chapman

I got an email about the “The 5 Love Languages for Men” book from Laura Beth with FlyByPromotions and immediately thought, “Well, I’m not a man.”  I told LB that my husband has been really busy lately and didn’t have a lot of time to read books.  She told me that she would love for me to read it and give my opinion on it.  Once again, Gary Chapman blew it out of the park.  This author is amazing at how he can write and minister, all on the same page.  I love the tips that he gives and the history of how things had helped other couples.

(We need to learn from our mistakes to make our marriage grow.) “Someone once said insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” – Gary Chapman

I had previously read “The Five Love Languages” by Gary Chapman that was more for couples and learned so much from this great author.  He also recently had another book out, called “The Marriage You’ve Always Wanted“, that again, taught me so much!!

Being one who believes that marriage is forever, and the one time you say “I do”, should be the only, I love reading what Mr. Chapman has to say.  Even though this book is focused on men, even women can learn a lot from it.  We each learn from different things and live different ways – to be able to get some of the same knowledge and be on the same page in life is huge.  This world makes marriage seem like it’s not important and that you should be living together, etc….I’ll get into that another day!  We need to hold marriage dear to our hearts!  Remember marriage is also a beautiful picture of the relationship between Christ and His church. The body of believers that make up the Church are collectively called the bride of Christ. As Bridegroom, Jesus gave His life for His bride, “to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word” (Ephesians 5:25–26), and His selfless act provides an example for all husbands. At the second coming of Christ, the church will be united with the Bridegroom, the official “wedding ceremony” will take place, and with it the eternal union of Christ and His bride will be actualized (Revelation 19:7–9;21:1–2).

Let’s try our best to be at least 1/10th of that (since we are so far from the holiness of God), and be wonderful partners to our own spouses!
