I Got Crafty Paws With A Dryer Sheets Box!

So I recently received an email from the Snuggle Bear Den, where I am a member getting to try out new products and also help promote the ones already available to the public. If you’re like me, you always have some Snuggle dryer sheets in your laundry room. It’s my favorite brand and always does a great job in helping with static (which runs rampant here in the mountains) and making the laundry smell amazing!!

The message I received made me feel like I was on 007….it said:

Your mission: to create a unique and original holiday-themed craft from your dryer sheets box – like wreaths, snowflakes and ornaments – you get the idea! Share your craft via Pinterest pins, blog posts, photos, tutorials, vines and other videos – you name it! The more creative the better.

I just wanted to add the “…if you choose to accept it” after the mission!! ha/ha What a fun thing to do – I really had to think about what to make with the box. At first, I thought of using the dryer sheets themselves to make flowers, but then decided to not waste one of those, since I wanted them for the laundry!! I decided to make something with the box itself…don’t look in my laundry drawer, since the sheets aren’t very discreet. 🙂

Since we live in the mountains and are praying for snow (which we should be getting any day now, hopefully), I decided to make a picture frame type of artwork with my box. It’s a 3D style and was really easy to make. I’ll outline how I did it below.

MATERIALS:

Snuggle Dryer Sheets Box
Spray Paint
Craft Paper
Cricut Machine
Sticker Foam Padding

INSTRUCTIONS:

I started by cutting the flap off of the dryer sheet box.

I folded that piece in half and taped it, to the back of the box, to use as a stand.

Then, I got to work with the spray paint and painted the whole thing a silver color.

When that dried, I started creating the inserts. Using my Cricut Explore, I cut out some mountain shapes and some pine trees to decorate the inside.

I added some pen lines to make the piece a little more real looking (not so much, I know). Using some craft tape, I taped the large mountain to the back of the box. I then used some craft foam pieces to make a space between the two parts of the mountains to add the 3D effect.

Next, I printed out a picture of our son when he was sledding/snowboarding, to cut out and make the frame a bit more personal. This one was big, but I decided to print one a lot smaller to go better with the dimensions of the piece.

I then, bent the bottom part of the picture and added some craft tape to adhere it to the bottom of the box.

Now, thanks to Snuggle and my craft supplies, I have a fun picture frame that is some great art for my desk at home!! I hope you like it!!
