I received the book called “Persecuted” from Laura Beth with Fly By Promotions. Pretty much every time that I hear from this wonderful lady, it’s regarding a great book or movie coming out. I absolutely love being a part of this group! In today’s world with so much of the budgets focused on advertising the junk that I don’t care to see and don’t care for my family to be a part of, it’s a blessing to be a part of a family of bloggers helping to promote things that are great for any person, family, etc. We need so many more companies like Fly By to be out there in the world today! I had never heard of the movie coming out or anything to do with the story behind this book. The title reminded me of the one I had read from the “Voice of the Martyrs“, but it turned out to be a story that was different, but a bit the same.
As it says in 2 Timothy 3:12, “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted…”, and so many of us in ministry, or just being a believer seem to be dealing with parts of this even today. I’m a Community Shepherd with Global Media Outreach and we get emails from people around the world wanting to know about the Lord, etc. I’ll never forget getting an email from an 18 year old girl in Iran, who wished to receive the Lord as her personal Savior. She asked if it was okay to keep it to herself for awhile, since her family would kill her if they knew what she did.
Could you imagine? Having to live like that and worry about your own family doing these things? Now I know that in today’s world, it’s already starting to happen with people not agreeing on lifestyles, medical decisions, etc. – but we aren’t even close to what some of the people deal with in Iran or even China.
This book really made me wonder how soon we would be dealing with the same thing that the pastor named John Luther dealt with in this book. Just as we hear about in bible stories, etc. about the “One-World Religion“, this book really focuses on what could happen if that actually starts to be a norm. I’ve seen things like this already happening with some really popular pastors and it really makes me stop and pray! All in all, this was a great story and really made you think about your own life and if you are truly living the right way. As it says in Matthew 7:13-14 – “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”.
I pray that you are with me on that narrow path…even though we will most likely be persecuted in this life, I yearn for the day I hear…”Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord“!!
