Decorate Your Yard With An Outdoor Nativity Set! 7

*I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.*

Christmas in today’s world has gone from what I remember with my family – a celebration of Jesus’ birth to what seems to be the “norm” in today’s world.  Celebrating gifts and money.  My husband and I make sure to put the focus on the true meaning of the season and give glory to God for sending His son to this earth to save us.

My husband goes all out with a light display in our yard set to music and trying to get people to know that the reason behind the holiday is so much more than presents under a tree.  When I had seen the “Outdoor Nativity Set” from Teak Isle Mfg., Inc. last year, I so wanted to add one to our display.  I’ve heard nothing but good things about the sets and wanted to try one out.  I sent a letter to the company asking if I could have one to review and post about it on my blog.  I got a wonderful letter from Mr. Andrew Brown – the Director of eCommerce Development that said “Thank you for your interest in our products.  Per your request, please find our most popular outdoor nativity set enclosed.  We hope you enjoy it and your readers enjoy hearing about it!”  How awesome is that?  I love when a company is open to allowing someone from the public to try out their product for a review to let others know how they felt about it.

The package arrived like this, and had really great instructions on even how to just open the box:

Once I got it open, I started putting the pieces together.  I did it all by myself!! It was really easy to assemble, and I think the hardest part was just at the end when you have to hammer in the stability pieces – other than that, no problems at all!  The pieces fit together like a puzzle, and it was so much fun putting it together to display!  Here’s how the pieces fit at the edges:

Then I got the rest of it put together and ready to go outside.  It looked like this in the house:

We then took it outside and found the spot we wanted it to be, hammered in the stability bars, which worked really great in keeping it secure and sturdy.  We were worried that it might not stay up in the wind, etc., but the added pieces really took that worry away.  Here it is out in the yard:

We decided to move it and put a light on it for the night time, when we have all of our other lights going.  Here’s what it looks like now:

We really are very happy with the quality, ease of assembly, instructions provided and the customer service that I received from the company.  I love to get the word out on places that I definitely recommend and really see myself buying from in the future.  They have a whole set that can go with this one to have the full Nativity Set in your yard, and I think I’m going to be saving up to purchase this in the future.  Check it out here.

Thanks Teak Isle, Inc./Outdoor Nativity Set for the great product that can now help us bring the focus back to what the CHRISTmas season is all about!

About The Company:

TeakIsle-LogoOUTDOORNATIVITYSETS.COM was launched in late 2010. With the challenges of the economy, our parent company Teak Isle Manufacturing, a 30 year supplier to the marine industry, was faced with cutting its workforce during the holidays. The hard fact was that fewer people were buying boats and the holiday months were going to be extremely slow. Toward the end of last year we were brainstorming of ways to increase our business. As we were talking, one of our employees reminded us that we had built some nativity sets in the past and maybe we could do this again during the holiday season.

Years ago one of the owners of Teak Isle saw a silhouette nativity set at a Christmas tree stand that was made of plywood and painted white. He was taken by the simplicity of the part and loved the message that it conveyed. He bought the set and proudly displayed it in his yard. Later that year, he decided to work with his designers to build a set that was similar to the one he had purchased, but designed and cut from marine grade plastic to withstand the weather conditions for years to come. Teak Isle built some of these nativities for friends and family members and eventually supplied some to local Christmas tree stands. At the time, this was done more for the satisfaction of seeing the nativities around the neighborhood and the joy of being able to offer such a meaningful keepsake.

In October 2010, the decision was made to redesign our nativity sets so that they could be shipped UPS and broken down for easy storage for the rest of the year. We stayed true to the simple, white and non-commercial style and continued to make them from marine grade plastic. Our feeling was that if we offered a high quality AMERICAN MADE product at an affordable price that people would be happy to support us. We were excited by the fact that we were able to keep all of our employees working through the holidays and found peace in the thought of our nativities sitting in neighborhoods all around the country reminding people of the true reason for the season.

This year we are excited to introduce a new line of nativity figures to add to your set including angels, wise men, shepherds and a variety of animals. You can purchase a new figure each year or buy a whole set to complete your nativity scene. Also new this year is a larger, six foot tall version of the nativity for churches or homes with larger yards.

We are proud to report that, in this struggling economy, we were able to hire additional people to work on our nativities this year. Thank you for your business and we wish you all of the peace and joy that comes with the Christmas season.

God Bless,

Cool! This looks so nice. I really want one but all I can find in the stores are cheap plastic. I am headed over to take a look.
