“Make Your Own Earrings” #TigerStrypesBlog 25

Make Your Own Earrings” #TBCCrafters Hop

I saw a project like this on LauraBrayDesigns and thought it would be fun to take the idea and make it into something new.  Living in the mountains, we only have a few places to buy jewelry and it’s either too expensive, or not even worth the money.  I’m not one to stick with the “styles” and don’t want something that looks like a 12 year old on my ear!  I figured I could use whatever colors, styles, etc. for making my own and have them match anything!!

These were very easy to do, you can use your Cricut, or just a punch and make the shapes you wish with cardstock or any other sturdy material.  The posts can be replaced by hooks or even clip-ons, depending on your preference.

I hope you like it!! Have a blessed day, and please be sure to comment on and share this #TBCCrafters craft!!

Make Your Own Earrings Craft

Materials/Tools Used:

earring

Instructions:

Start by picking out a piece of scrapbook paper that you like (one that is versatile or would match the outfit you’re making these to go with).  Pick a shape you would like and use your Cricut, or other tool to cut it out.

Next, use your glue gun to add a dot of glue to the back of whatever embellishment you are going to use.  I had some flat back jewel embellishments that I figured would match anything.

Now, glue each one to the center of the piece you cut out of the scrapbook paper.

earring

After you have that fixed in place, use an earring back to create your jewelry.  I got these on Amazon and can’t wait to make more.  Just glue it to the back with a small dot of your hot glue.

Now you can add them to any outfit and aren’t tied to what is available at the store.  Make whatever shape, color, size, etc. for a fraction of the cost!!

earring Hope you like it!  Please take a minute to leave me a comment and let me know what you would do different, or what you would add, etc.  Be sure to tweet, pin, share, etc. – thanks!!

I love this. My oldest daughter makes her own earrings. She makes them for her friends also and makes a little money to put up for a car. Wonderful hobby to have.

I love the challenge of DIY stuff. I also love being able to show my creativity in making something with my own hands whether it’s food, gifts, finishing rooms in our home, building structures outdoors such as decks, patios, fences, etc. It’s a lot of fun!

I can’t say that I’ve ever been one for earrings either, not a big fan of jewelry in general really. But that does look like it could be a lot of fun. Or an idea for a girl’s birthday party, depending on the age.
