Make Some Harvest Corn Jewelry 26

harvestMake Some Harvest Corn Jewelry

With the holiday season coming up and my garden looking like it got ran over by a truck, I figured something to do with Harvest was a good choice for this week’s craft.  I wanted to put together something you could use for the next couple of months and made this.  Would be great to give as a gift, or just wear to your next Harvest themed party.  Really easy to make and you could add things, edit things, to make it yours.  I hope you like it!!harvest“Harvest Corn Jewelry” Craft

Materials Needed:
  • Pipe Cleaners
  • 6mm Round Faceted & Tri-Beads
  • Glue Gun
  • Paper Ribbon
  • Rattail (Length Your Choice)
  • Raffia or Gift Ribbon
  • Scissors
  • Jewelry Backs
  • & Time

Instructions:

Being by cutting your pipe cleaners to 2.5″ long.  Do this for however many you are wanting to make.

harvest

Glue a round faceted bead to the end of the pipe cleaner.

harvest

String (11) of the Tri-Beads onto the pipe cleaner in a random color pattern of your choice.  Be sure to make the beads nest together on the pipe cleaner.

harvest

Once you have them on, trim your pipe cleaner to 1/4″ above the last one to finish.

harvest

Next, cut a 4″x1″ piece of paper ribbon and trim the edges to match the picture below.

When you have as many of the “husks” as you need, you can begin gluing them together.  Insert the “corn” at the bottom of the “husk” and then glue at the top to the pipe cleaner.

harvest

After you’ve run to the kitchen for ice from burning your fingers on the glue, you can continue!! ha/ha  Next, finish with the rest of your cobs.  When you’ve completed the amount you wish you use, separate in sets of 3 for the necklace and 1 or 2 for the pin (whichever you decide to make).  Take your raffia and tie it in a knot, then slip over the (3) ears of corn.

When you have them somewhat secured, tie your rattail that you will use for your necklace with a knot at the end.  Slip that under the raffia and secure your raffia with a tight knot.

harvest

When you have it secured, you can flip it over and tie a bow or however you wish to bedazzle it up!!  If you decide to make the earrings, then glue the earring post to the back of each (I figured they were too big) or for a pin, just glue a pin to the back of one of them!!  Hope you like it!!
