Evening Prayers – For Every Day of the Year

*I was not financially compensated for this post. I received a sample for review purposes. The opinions are completely my own based on my experience.*eveningI received “Evening Prayers – For Every Day of the Year” by Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt from Handlebar Publishing to read and let my readers know about it.  I didn’t know what to expect from the book.  I had read some reviews about it, but always love to see it for myself.  The book is a great size and perfect to have next to the bed or the couch for evening devotion time.  Each page is dated and starts with a bible verse and a prayer to go with it.

What a great way to end the day, with a prayer to God.  He has been with you for the whole day and allowed you to make it to the evening time.  Giving Him praise and seeing new ideas for the day ahead from scripture really helps you in modeling your life after Jesus and learning to live through Him for Him.

I think this is a great book for any person, or any family wanting to bring Christ to the center of their life.  Just taking a few minutes each day to see what He wants to say to you, can make a bid difference in your life, your love and your purpose.

eveningAbout the Book:

We want to turn to God at the end of each day, but often don’t find the words to express our deepest feelings and longing. This collection of prayers is one of the few daily devotionals especially intended for use in the evening.

Blumhardt’s words bespeak a certainty in God’s nearness. The peace that flows from them comes from an unshakeable conviction that God’s kingdom is indeed on the way. In stormy and challenging times like our own, most of us need this reassurance frequently, if not daily.

Editorial Reviews

“Blumhardt’s conviction that God is present and powerful and able to still work his will in the world today breathes through every prayer. These are as striking , moving, and provocative now as they surely were when Blumhardt prayed them.” – John E. Phelan

“This book of prayers is a treasure, a precious pearl. May others discover its riches, as I have.” – Luci Shaw

About The Author:evening

Christoph Friedrich Blumhardt (1842-1919) was born in Möttlingen, Germany in 1842. As his father, Johann Christoph Blumhardt, had done before him, he took university training pointing toward a Reformed pastorate. However, he became disillusioned with the church and theology and so decided simply to return home to Bad Boll and act as a helper there. Upon his father’s death, then, he took over as house-father and continued the work until his own death in 1919.
